# Captain Drawdown's CDR Databases

- [Captain Drawdown Data](/data/) — release 2026-11.4, data as of 2026-11-05: 913 published CDR companies (1,470 active in the database), 55,865 researchers with CDR papers since 2021 (calibrated estimate 51,946), 14 shops.
- [Release manifest](/data/v1/latest/manifest.json) — the map for agents: every file of the newest release with description, row count, size, licence and SHA-256. Pick the file that answers the question, fetch it, quote its version. The aggregate files are small (researchers per country, per pathway, the top-100 lists, shops); companies.csv is the large one (about 700 KB).
- Always current: /data/v1/latest/ and the API serve the newest release at a fixed address; pin /data/v1/<version>/ only for a result that must not change, and cite its DOI.
- [CDR Company Directory data](/data/companies/) — CSV/JSON, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, with pathway, country, liveliness tier, size class, registries.

- [JSON API](/api/) — static read-only endpoints under /api/v1/, always the newest release; fetch index.json first (endpoints with one-line descriptions), then stats.json, companies.json, companies/{slug}.json, countries.json, pathways.json, researchers/by-country.json, researchers/by-pathway.json, researchers/top/{pathway}.json, shops.json or openapi.json. Every response carries version, as_of, license and cite_as.
