About

Varaha is a New Delhi-based carbon removal project developer founded in 2022, operating across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and parts of Africa with ~150,000–175,000 smallholder farmers. Its primary pathway is industrial and artisanal biochar (registered on Puro.earth), with additional projects in soil carbon/regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, enhanced rock weathering, and afforestation. Major offtakes include Google (100,000 t, Jan 2025) and Microsoft (100,000+ t over three years, Jan 2026), and it raised $20M of a planned $45M Series B led by WestBridge Capital in Feb 2026.
