About

TOWING is a Nagoya University spinout founded in February 2020 that develops and sells Soratan, a high-performance biochar soil conditioner produced from carbonized local biomass and enhanced with microbes. Its Soratan projects are registered under Japan’s J-Credit Scheme for biochar application to farmland, and the company has recent partnerships with Suntory (2025 pilot) and J-POWER (2025 investment), plus a global partnership with Biocare.
