About

Takachar is an MIT spin-off social enterprise that builds small-scale, portable thermochemical reactors (Takavator and T1000) that mount on tractors/pickups to convert crop and forest residues into biochar at the point of production. The company commercially launched its Takavator in October 2025 and has deployments across the US, Canada, India, Kenya and elsewhere, selling biochar carbon removal credits to buyers including Klarna and WRLD Foundation via Milkywire.
