About
KWS Ökokraft GmbH is a small Austrian district-heating and electricity utility founded in 2017 in Ternitz, Lower Austria, operating a SynCraft CW1200-400 wood-gas CHP plant commissioned in July 2020. The plant delivers ~400 kW of electricity to the grid and ~600 kW of heat to the local district-heating network, and co-produces EBC-certified biochar (~3.7 m³/day, ~1.8 t CO2/day) as a byproduct used for soil improvement. Energy supply is the core business; biochar is an adjacent CDR revenue stream.
