About
Founded in 2022, Gigablue develops and deploys a marine carbon removal pathway based on Microalgae Carbon Fixation and Sinking (MCFS), using the biological pump in which phytoplankton turn CO2 into organic matter that sinks as “marine snow” for deep-sea sequestration. In January 2025, Gigablue announced an agreement with SkiesFifty to sequester 200,000 tons of CO2 over four years, building on their July 2024 partnership. In late 2025/early 2026 the company raised $20 million in the first close of its Series A and had its methodology released by the Puro.earth Advisory Board.
