Danube Carbon Storage is a Budapest-based project developer formed to create large-scale onshore geological carbon sequestration capacity, backed by ClonBio Group (owner of Pannonia Bio) and EMOV Limited. The Danube Removals Project, owned by Danube CCS Ventures Kft., will sequester ~500,000 tonnes/year of biogenic CO2 from the Pannonia Bio biorefinery to generate CRCF-compliant voluntary-market removal certificates. Captured CO2 will be compressed and sent via a 10-15 km pipeline to three nearby injection wells, with a CCS exploration license granted in June 2024.
