CREW Carbon is a US-based CDR startup founded in 2022 by Joachim Katchinoff and Noah Planavsky that doses wastewater treatment plants with calcium carbonate (limestone) to convert dissolved CO2 into stable bicarbonate ions that are discharged to rivers and oceans. In May 2025 the company delivered the first-ever verified Wastewater Alkalinity Enhancement credits (104.4 tonnes, certified by Isometric) to Frontier under a $32.1M, 71,878-tonne offtake agreement running through 2030. Operations are running in New Haven, Connecticut and expanding to additional US and European facilities.
