About

Ceal (Ceal Minerals) is an Israeli climate-tech startup founded in April 2024, spun out of Dr. Charlotte Vogt’s lab at the Technion under Israel’s Blue Economy program. Its electrochemical mineralization process treats seawater running through power-plant cooling intakes to precipitate calcium carbonate, producing a salable PCC byproduct while sequestering CO2. First pilot began operating in December 2024 at the National Institute of Oceanography in Haifa, with a planned deployment at Israel Electric Corporation’s Orot Rabin power station.
