About
Carbonaught is a Brisbane, Australia-based agtech startup founded in 2021 that applies enhanced rock weathering (crushed basalt sourced from mining and quarry waste) to farmland to permanently remove atmospheric CO2 while improving soil health and reducing synthetic fertilizer use. The company runs field trials across Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, and California on sugarcane, bananas, avocados, macadamias, and other crops, and is the commercial lead on an Australian government-funded ERW research project with James Cook and Adelaide Universities.
