About

BLOCK Bio Innovationen GmbH & Co. KG (BLOCK Pflanzenkohle) is a family-run biochar producer in Osterrade, Dithmarschen, Schleswig-Holstein, founded by brothers Mathis and Steffen Block. The facility uses a Carbo Force pyrolysis system to carbonize regional biomass (woodchips, landscape-care residues, reed from rewetted moorlands) into EBC-AgroOrganic certified biochar, with waste heat feeding a local district-heating network. The project targets roughly 550 tonnes of biochar and ~2,000 t CO2/yr of sequestration.
