About

Los Angeles-based Avnos develops Hybrid Direct Air Capture technology that produces roughly five tons of water as a co-product alongside every ton of CO2 removed, in contrast to conventional DAC systems which consume water. In November 2025 the company announced Project Cedar, a first-of-its-kind HDAC facility financed by up to $17 million from Shell US Gas and Power and Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas). Avnos is advancing projects with Shell, Mitsubishi, the U.S. Office of Naval Research, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
